previous knowledge (kindergarten)
I teach kindergarten. I think it would be great if there were some concepts that helped support the common core concepts. Not all of my students come in that previously had exposure to these concepts. For example, students may not know their alphabet and need extra practice with it. Or even need help with specific letters and sounds.

I agree. Most of my kindergartners are still working on counting and cannot subtract numbers let alone figure out how to subtract withing a story problem. They are also learning shapes and would not know what a hexagon is, let alone know that 6 triangles could be put together to make a hexagon.
