  1. The new updates are awful! Bring the old interface back.

The appeal for Scootpad in the earlier version was its ease of use. The dashboard where you could see and access your entire class is gone. Creating assignments is much more difficult. Cannot even view the students coin rewards......its coming soon. Very disappointed! Why change what was working. I recommended this program to other teachers at my site and encouraged our site principal to purchase a site license. I will most likely recommend our site look for another program when our license expires.

Hi there – Thanks for the feedback. We sincerely apologize for the major change that took place in Sep 2014 which may have caught many users by surprise. We’ve learnt from that experience and since then we’ve been very careful and thorough in ensuring no major changes get deployed without major consensus and heads-up coupled with additional training.

  2. More ebooks

We need more ebooks at each reading level.

  3. Allow kids to earn more coins when practicing

When my fifth graders work on scootpad practices and they get 100% I think they should receive more than 25 coins

Hey everyone – thanks for the suggestion/feedback! Currently, you can preview an assessment with the exact questions students will see in Assessment 2.0.

In Assessments 2.0, click on My Assessments, then on My Own Assessments, and just click on the Preview Icon (magnifying glass). You can find this icon on assessments in the Open Content Platform as well.

As for the new targeted practice feature in Practice 2.0, you now have the ability to preview multiple questions that will potentially be on that specific practice but due to the dynamic nature of the practice the questions will not be exactly what your students will see. Take a look at the new site that gives a nice explanation here (https://www.scootpad.com/features/mas-targeted-practices)

Thanks so much for your support and patience. You all are awesome.

  5. All reports printable

All reports should be printable and/or able to be downloaded in a PDF format. I signed up for the premium account under the impression from your site, etc. that access to reports would include the ability to print all reports. The ability to do this will determine if I use and purchase Scootpad next year. The reports are vital and the need to be printable.

  8. Add a feature to search for specific math concepts regardless of grade.

Currently, when I search for a concept, it only searches within my grade. I have students with varied abilities, and gaps that are outside their current grade. I'd love to be able to search for a concept, and see all the related activities, regardless of grade.

  9. Mass assigning students to take a placement test

Have the ability to mass assign a placement test instead of clicking on individual students.

  11. sharing children with multiple teachers

Wow, we really really need to be able to have kids in multiple teacher portals while keeping the same account. So the homeroom teacher, the GT teacher and the ELL teacher can all have the same child and the same child's account under portal teacher portals so we can all see the data. THis should be able to be done for a single child or a group of children (e.g., assign the ELL teacher access or "shared ownership" of a group or subset of kids.

I think that to have a school best use the platform, from GT to ELL…

  12. Improve Placement Test

Please adjust the placement test, so one wrong answer will not end the test. There should be at least two questions dealing with each standard. It is very easy for a student to accidentally click the wrong bubble or for the audio to be unable to play.

    Hi All,

Thanks for the suggestion. The 2.0 Diagnostic test solves for this by assessing students on the foundational concepts across the entire learning path which are necessary for the higher level concepts. Check it out for grades K-6! Thanks for your support!

  13. Option to Reassign Failed Assignments

Option to reassign failed assignments. (Now, I create a new assignment for just the student(s) who did not meet my expectations, but it would be nice to be able to delete their previous score and have them retake it without having to create a new assignment.)

    Hi all,

In 2.0, you are able to reassign assignments easily. Also, student scores are no longer the typical average but a decaying average which places more weight on the latest score. Thanks for your patience!

  14. sync parent dashboards

When I create rewards for our student, my husband cannot see them on his parent dashboard. Conversely, when he creates a reward, I don't see it on my dashboard. Our student sees them both (good).
Parent dashboards should show the rewards for the student. Right now, for the other parent to see them, they have to sign in as the student

  15. Complexity in problems depending on abilities, and not just common core standards.

What I would like to see is the complexity in problems depending on abilities, and not just common core standards. e.g. if a kid finishes a unit for word problems that is needed for his grade level, there needs to be an option for him to go for more challenging unit in the word problems.

  17. Conflict avoidance

You should have an icon for whether things are tablet friendly. Alex just spent 50 coins on Character fall for a week, and it doesn't seem compatible with the iPad Scootpad app. The keyboard doesn't pop up for her to make the catch.
An icon for ipad friendly would be good... or better yet, games that are playable on all formats.

  18. Spelling Words

I would love to be able to hit the tab button when entering my spelling words for the week instead of having to click onto each box separately. Just a thought! :) Keep up the great work, guys! This first grade teacher is hooked!!

    Hi all,

In the spelling section of the platform, you can paste your words in right from a csv file. This makes it super easy to make an assignment and view student progress ;)

    Thanks for the feedback!

  19. Interaction

I love Scootpad because the assignments are linked to the current common core standards and because it's data driven. My students like it as well because it's technology base; however, they think it's boring at times. I think you all should add some interactive activities that are linked to the standards. This will make the kids feel like they're having fun and learning at the same time. Hopefully, this
will bring the program to life.

    Hello!

Thanks for the suggestion! We have boosted our student engagement features tremendously! Students are able to trade in their coins for avatars, wallpaper, play games, and more! Visit our homepage to find out more!

    Thanks for your feedback!

  20. Make Time Spent Data Available to Student

You need to enable students to see how long they have been working on a daily basis, not just time spent on a completed assignment. Data is only available on the parent and the teacher dashboards, but often teachers assign a required minimum amount of time of work on ScootPad. Students should be able to see exactly how much time, how many problems attempted and how many skills practiced on a daily basis for user determined date ranges so they do not need to ask the teachers or parents how long they have been working on ScootPad.
